havent written anything in a whiiiiiiile. this weekend i saw shreck 2, which was very funny and cute. anyone who whines and says that it wasnt as funny as the first one is just an idiot and should be smacked. i also played with heman action figures and legos with jason. what else did i do. i dont know. but on friday night my dad patted jason's belly and said "woah, you got some nice abs there". haha. every time i think about it, it just seems weirder and funnier. it was so akward. poor jason and his rock hard abs.

let us go, you and i, when the evening is spread out against the sky
blogger changed its format. very unsettling. today was my dad's 60th birthday. he is old as crap! i got him the indiana jones dvd set which he liked. we also got into this huge fight at dinner because he was being a jerk and drunkenly yells at me for no reason. whenever i yell at people out of anger my voice sounds really weird to me. like its coming from another part of the room and not out of me. i always get really surprised that i can be that loud. shouting is kind of funny when you think about it. we try to get our point across by seeing who can get the loudest. whoever screams loudest must be right. anycrap, i saw 2 cicadas today. they were both dead on the ground but still creepy nonetheless. i am not looking forward to those ugly things flying around everywhere. welp. oh yeah. so here's whats going on so far with next year for me. i'm going to take english 12 in summer school. then i'm going to do concurrent enrollment and take 6 classes (3 each semester) at anne arundle. so i will still technically be a senior at bowie but i wont actually have to go into the building at all. hooray for me! and no one else.

calm down i'll play with you later!
friday was beach day. after i took the ap test, me david and matt went and picked up jason from work then drove to the beach. david's feet smell really bad. they smelled so bad that i drove very very fast to ocean city and was consequently caught by a speed trap and fined $140 for driving 80 in a 55. sucks to be me. the beach trip was actually a lot of fun. bora and rob and their friend dave were there coincidently. but yeah, it was pretty fun. at one point i tried to turn left on this street but realized it was one way halfway throught the turn and did a Uturn in the middle of coastal highway. it would have been scary if it wasnt so funny. polish water ice is definetly worth the time it takes to drive to the beach. that stuff is so good and makes me very proud to be polish. so anyway, beach was fun and i look forward to future beach trips this summer.

finagle a bagle
before i started high school, i wanted to try and be able to finish all my classes in 3 years but i was told that they didnt allow kids to do that anymore. so i was like "mwoh" (sadface). but then i was talking to my friend beth today and she is doing that. she's going to take english 12 this summer in summer school and then she wont have to come back for senior year, she will already have graduated. i want to do this! the only class i need next year is english. and if i take it during summer school, i will be a high school graduate by august! then next year i can work and maybe take some classes at anne arundal or something. i'm so hoping this will work out! english 12 is about $600 for summer school, but i can work that off in about a month so its not that big of a deal. i'm going to talk to my mommy about it when she gets home on saturday, then hopefully on monday i can go to my counselor and see about all this happening. i hope i can make it work!

impersonate greater persons
warm weather makes me restless and makes me not go to class. i go to my first period class, english, 2 days a week at the most... maybe 3. but even then i'm usually a few minutes late. but i have a 94% in that class because i am amazing and we only turn in work on fridays. even my teacher said he doesnt really care about me being late as long as i keep my grade where it is. so, sweet, no more 1st period. i'll just go mondays and fridays. i have my ap test for history on friday. and then i dont need to go back to school after i take it that day, so i'm not. me and matt have a plan to go to ocean city, and i think david and jason are going to go too. we'll just leave around noon and go down there, hang out, then come home friday night when we get bored. its supposed to be really hot that day too so it would be a perfect ocean city day. so yes, i hope going to ocean city works out because it could be fun. tonight me and matt and bryan were talking about "that good summer" and old severn crossing drama. like when they tried to steal our bridge that we made going over the creek. those damn bridge-stealing sanders. oh yeah, and that "good summer" was the summer after my freshman year when we all had a lot of fun. but also did a lot of really stupid crap. but its fun to look back on. living in a neighborhood is lame. they give you these notices and citations all the time. we just got one telling us we need to move the nova from our driveway within 15 days. and matt got one telling him he has to move the chevelle from his driveway. so me and matt have a plan to find out who's on the neighborhood committee that sends out these letters and egg their houses. then send them notices telling them to remove the egg from their property. nerds!

i'm reading Utopia right now. its a very hard book to read, considering it was written in 1516 and it has sentences that take up almost an entire page. it's been taking me a lot longer to read than a more recent book would because i constantly have to re-read things in order to really understand what thomas more was talking about. i've only read about 30 pages in the last week or two. thats kind of sad. there are a lot of passages in Utopia that, although written almost 500 years ago, still hold true. if you replace the words 'king' and 'prince' with 'president' in a lot of the passages, they make complete sense in relation to our country at this point in time. so far the book is talking a lot about how criminals are created in poverty and uneducated then punished by the government who created them. it also talks a lot about how a ruler who deals to heavily with other countries will neglect his own. anywho, here are a few captions that i thought related a lot to what is going on in the world right now, courtesy of thomas more.
"the king was so distracted by trying to take care of two kingdoms that he couldn't concentrate on either one."
"pretend he is going to war and to use that pretext to raise money and then, when it suits him, to make peace with religious ceremonies, pulling the wool over the people's eyes and making them think that he is a conscientious, merciful prince who wishes to spare them bloodshed;"
"no penalty is great enough to keep people from stealing if they have no other way to make a living."
if anyone who's reading this has seen Ever After, you might recognize this next passage. Drew Barrymore loosely quoted this in the movie during the scene where she disguises herself as a courtier and tries to buy her friend out of slavery.
"In fact when you bring people up with the worst sort of education and allow their morals to be corrupted little by little from their earliest years, and then punish them at last as grown men when they commit the crimes which from childhood they have given every prospect of committing, what else are you doing, I ask you, but making them into thieves and then punishing them for it?"
